Great post mate.

I couldn't get a ticket was planing to go up there, but the Mrs broke her knee cap in footy game last week, so all a bit nuts in the cat house. Opted to watch the game in that hot bed of Hammers support, IsleworthIsleworth, with one of me brothers.

Was great, full of plastic Mancs who got both barrels of dogs from me and my brother.

The only ones who knew anything was a Brentford fan and a Chelsea fan, old school Who knew what it was all about.

Bit later in the game another bloke walks in black dude sits quitely in the corner and cheers on the goals.

Get talking, nice bloke, plays in a blues band and his favourite ever played, Clyde Best.

The game finished and we gave the treated the pub to a rousing rendition of Bubbles.

They turned the telly of and on went the bonga bonga music, but me broth put an end to that and the music stopped the telly went on, the so called Manc fans pissed off and we sat with these real footy fans reminiscing about the old ground.

Kicked us out well after closing time, kebab gaff shut so wanderered of into the rain whistling bubbles.

Nice evening and proud to be West Ham.

Head hurts now though....

Great post mate.

Like other posters I sat alone in my lounge room in the early hours, glued to every single aspect of what was, a brilliant game. From 10,000 miles away the intensity of the atmosphere was palpable. Guts, desire, passion and heart won the day for us and what a great win , the last in the old lady.Like others I shed a tear during the excellent video that accompanied "My Way".

I am happy with the send off (bar the entertainment-cockney rebels?), pleased we are moving to that next stage of our evolution as a club and am looking forward to being there, all the way from Aus, when we play our first Premier league game at the Olympic stadium this August.

Anyone have a spare ticket?

Hugs all round

Re: WHO GROUP HUG - The Sound Of Bubbles
I was moved to write this emotional and drunk at the final whistle and I'm not the most eloquent of individuals so it probably does not make much sense, but I did and I'm back home now, so I may as well post it as part of a group hug...

I'll never hear that particular sound of Bubbles again, that's the sense of what I felt tonight and I've been emotional since that that thought. I considered tonight would be ok as I'm by and large a fan from afar and I'd thought I'd be immune from the Boleyn finale. However, hearing the crowd belt out Bubbles and the thought that I'll never hear it the way it sounded tonight, brought unexpected tears to my eyes.

I'm not a regular at the Boleyn, but I have been there many a year since the 80's. My kids and myself said farewell last season as I knew it would be difficult to make any games this season living out West.

I hail from rural Kent. My dad a Derby fan and a Brighton player, so I am on the absolute fringes of what may considered as a 'local' affiliation to west ham, but there was never ever any question in my mind as a 6 year old, despite being in the 2nd division. West Ham had something.

I didn't know precisely what at the time, but my favourite player in Trevor Booking and legend Billy Bonds was a big part of it, However, the main part of it was the atmosphere at the Boleyn,

I'd been taken to many games as a kid, West Ham, Palace, Charlton and a number of London grounds on a boxing day match, but the atmosphere at the Boelyn was different. I didn't know why. It just was. As a 6 year old I'd picked West Ham and that was that. We were in the 2nd division at that point.

We had success in the cup and promotion in 1980, but that as been the highlight in achievement on the pitch since my allegiance. However, that has not been the highlight in success in support though. So many times, particularly in the 80's I've been astounded by, proud of and participated in to the response of the fans to shit teams on the pitch and shit decisions by the ref. Provided the team put the effort in and they believed they could win, we were with them.

A sense of family is the only way describe the attitude - tolerance of the faults of the team, celebration of effort and delight in the successes. In essence, winning isn't
everything, but delight in trying (and dreaming) is. The same sense of family is what I feel when Bubbles is sung at the Boleyn.

Tonight brought many of those attitudes to the fore. I dreamt of a 6-0 win to send off the Boleyn. A team that should be 3-0 up in 30 mins and all over Man Utd made those dreams a faint possibility, but we then go 2-1 down and those dreams are dashed. Yet still we have a conga in the crowd and Bubbles sung. We then get a team with the bollocks and effort to come back to win 3-2 because they couldn't lose tonight.

That, plus a bit of (minor) aggro at the start of the game is what West Ham is to me.

The unique sound of Bubbles and the crowd at the Boleyn has gone. I hope the new sound of Bubbles at the new stadium sounds similar.

I watched on my own in Minorca (£1,60 a pint). The atmoshere on telly, was incredible. And seeing Slav close to tears was the last straw, and as hard as I tried a couple of bits of dust did end up in my eyes.

So proud that I'm a Hammer after that performance..
